staycation.

Duke didn't set foot into the office last week. To this point in my life, I would have to say that this was truly the best week I've experienced, simply because all of our children were around us and we were together. Heaven.

We sneakily told no-one of the time-off we'd planned, just to keep ourselves from making any commitments. The time was precious. We cleaned the garage out together. And the car. Then we messed the car up again on our many, many day-trips.

These pictures are from our drive about Oregon, ride on a ferry, visit to a new park, and (though the camera battery died before we could get any shots) dinner at Burgerville. Yum.

I wasn't bored with our adventurous, lazy life yet, but it had to end. We've not worked enough to warrant retirement quite yet.

So Duke is catching up on a giant stack of files, or cases, whatever they are called, along with a heavy study-routine for the last section of the CPA exam he'll be taking in July. And I am looking around me at a big, huge, very large mess that is mine to tackle and three very hyper children to love on. (I like my job better.)

We're ready though, having had that joyous rest, to press forward. I have to say though, that I am really looking forward to life after vocations. If only to get to see this face as much as I'd like...

Hooray for the dream days that make the more real ones bearable.

Here's hoping you get plenty of those days, especially with all the school-aged kids coming home for the summer! Enjoy them!
