Tired but inspired

I just realized I will always be tired. But there are two types of tired.

Things that are Good Tiring:
• Working in a garden
• Running up and down a hill with my kids
• Romancing my husband
• Hand-delivering home-made goodies
• Leaving my house with the boys
• Walks to the park
• Making an effort to look nice
• Cleaning house
• Visiting with family and friends
• Entertaining
• Fulfilling obligations
• Opening my blinds in the morning

Things that are Bad Tiring:
• Over-eating
• Over-sleeping
• Turning my husband down all the time
• Channel surfing
• Watching movies all day
• Hours on the computer
• Neglecting chores
• Avoiding friends and family
• Not leaving my house/fortress
• Going back to bed in the morning
• Staying in pajamas
• Dodging responsibilities

Basically, surrendering to my tiredness makes me tired.

I've decided to do away with things that make me Bad Tired. Bring on the Goodness!

"Any woman should be alive to opportunities-alive to public interests, to her family, to growth from church service. Life is so interesting, it worries me that I can't get it all done. And I have NO patience with women whose lives 'bore' them"
-Camilla E. Spencer

“I don’t want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing Sister Schenk’s lawn. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor’s children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone’s garden. I want to be there with children’s sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived.”
-Marjorie P. Hinckley

Girl you have a reason to be tired...you are pregnant! I do have to say that I love this post. I think we could all do a little more to make us "good tired". Having two rascals is tiring. I try to play with them lots and forget about how dirty the house might get since I don't have too much time to keep it clean :) I hope this pregnancy treats you wonderfully!!

You inspire me more than you know. I love you Megan. I am so proud to be your Mom. I feel privileged to know you and to have you in my life. I wonder why you chose me... fool that I am... to be your mother, but I am ever so glad that you did. You (and your brothers and sisters) make my life... full. I'm glad that we are on this path together.

I have to comment on your mom's comment. What a wonderfully sweet thing to say. (Glo, you're not a fool by the way) I feel so lucky to be a part of your family in any way. You guys are an amazing bunch, teaching everyone you meet a little more, about what love is. I know I'm a better person for it. And boy do I know tired these days, tired and food, lot's of it. It's all about balance, you have to afford yourself the ups and downs, and grow from them both. I love you meg and can't wait till you're closer so we can do the fun tiring things together.

SO I searched and searched unitl I could find it again...I am so glad I did. It has really made me reflect...anyway just wanted to let you know that your words are precious even to those you don't know! Thanks for sharing!!

The more I read, the more I love your blog! It became my favourite blog of all! It is very encouraging and inspiring, it is like reading something written by myself in my good moments. Thank you a lot, Megan Marie! I am so motivated to be the person I have to be now. :)
