Duke advised me against writing this post.

What are they thinking bringing the 80s dress back??? That was not fashion's most flattering moment.

Yikes. Ok, Duke thought that I would alienate my 80s fan readers. Don't get me wrong, I love that decade. The dancing and music were sublime. Loved Madonna. The hairstyles, epic.

But if they bring it back, it will no longer be hilarious to dress as the 80s prom-queen. People might think I'm working-it when I am really just expressing my goofy. Plus, why pay upwards of $50 for something I might find in my thrift-store halloween costume box?

Fashion people. How about the 60s? Twiggy. Mod. I could jump on that bandwagon. Not this.

Am I just being ridiculous here? Tell me if I am lacking vision. I'll promise to try to have an open mind.

I totally agree! The 80's fashion is full of "what was I thinking" outfits that I have no desire to re-live. I don't think most of the styles from the 80's look flattering on any body shape. If people start tight rolling their jeans again I'm gonna lose it!

I actually like some of the 80's style dresses. The two on the top are cute actually. But the rest of those dresses I'd never wear.

Margaret, I bet you could pull those off, too. Snaps. Knit is not so bad, I guess.

Ooooh, going back to the 60s would be awesome! Let's do that! I have to say, I hope the 80s hairstyles don't come back! I don't know if I can work the froofy curls and scrunchied side-ponytails...

Hey, I'm a child of the 80's and I'm not a fan of seeing those fashions again. I'm with you. Not the most flattering. I had the crop tops, the pegged legs, and the scrunchy sock sets that always had to match the shirt, and the fluorescent, but I never did get into the poof skirts and bubble dresses and such.

I honest-to-god saw this MASSIVE neon orange dress with sequinned shoulders the other day, who would that look good on? I can't seem to learn to love leggings either. Some eighties stuff I really like, I've got some thrifted shoes from back then and I do quite like puffy skirts. But I agree, there's much better eras!

This is ridiculous I saw one of these dresses at Target and stood there for a second wondering if accidentally went to Savers instead. The people who actually wore those clothes can just laugh at the teenagers who will wear them now and think that they are cool.
