To belong

I absolutely love carting a colossal stack of books to and from my church building. I love having a part to play. I adore attending planning-meetings and activities, and when I don't have any, I miss them something fierce.
What it comes down to, really, is that responsibility makes me feel essential.
I always feel a little listless when I haven't been given a church assignment in a while.
Perhaps everyone needs a community to belong to; somewhere where people count on us and miss us when we aren't around.

Like my grandpa has found at the dinner buffet here in town.

Or what my brother has at the Theater Department at school.

Church. That's my "Cheers".

I know what you mean...My work is that place for me, but when I was a stay at home mom, I felt lost...and not "needed"...(not needed by anyone except Chasey that is...SHE needed me). I was so happy to go back to work and find my own "Cheers" again!
