did I do this triathlon?
Nope. It just feels like I did!
I had the pleasure of being an official photographer at a beautiful event sponsored by my church in our area; a women's try-your-best triathlon. Best day ever! Talk about inspiring. I'm so worn out from all the jumping around and squatting to take photos, but I'd do it again, no question.
Women from 18 to 80 years old participated.
Oh, all the hugging, and high-fiving, and general supporting. I can never see too much of that sisterly-love.
Speaking of sisterly love. Here we are, the happy volunteers. Mom and Tam counted swim laps and Emily was a designated cheerer. Next year we're totally doing this though.
The below women are two of my absolute favorite people in the whole wide world. They've been my church leaders since I was very young, and have always shown me so much kindness. When I made goals for my life as a mother and wife, so much I planned was patterned after the example they set for me. And there they are, inspiring me again!
Friends. Friends, more friends. Heavenly, really.
I would have to say that my favorite part of the whole event was witnessing the marvelous support of the men, young and old, in the lives of these ladies.

Supporting.
Leading around hoards of children while mom achieved personal goals. (You know those husbands were also there for their wives during the months of training beforehand, too.)

Oh, of course photographing. I've never seen so many men with their camera phones at the ready. Proud husbands and fathers and sons.
I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse at the triumphs of total strangers. Half of them are folks I don't even know yet (but I want to).
Isn't it amazing what we are each capable of doing when we love and help one another? This event reaffirmed my faith in friendship, family, and people in general. What a wonderful world.
