a promise.

i know there are blessings that come from arising early in the morning and devoting a period of time to scripture study and prayer. i've seriously seen those blessing in our family life.

we've been waking up at six or earlier for about ten days now and we are already enjoying a great deal more organization of thought and ability to direct our family.

we've been following a schedule and amazingly we feel more free.

you know, bed-time is getting to be so much better. i think it's because matt and i are sending our subliminal "we love to go right to sleep so we can wake up and spend time together tomorrow" vibes. before we were sending out "all the fun stuff happens after you kids go to bed" vibes.

we haven't really changed anything, but everything has changed.

we are as busy, or busier than ever, to be sure, but Heavenly Father is giving us the strength to do it gracefully and the ability to notice the gem moments.

i feel like dropping to my knees throughout the day to tell Him THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

the scriptures contain so many precious promises from our loving God to those who would follow His counsel. why wouldn't we obey? for surely He keeps His promises.

"Cease to be idle; cease to be unclean; cease to find fault one with another; cease to sleep longer than is needful; retire to thy bed early, that ye may not be weary; arise early, that your bodies and your minds may be invigorated." doctrine and covenants 88:124
