memorial day part 2.

the other day i asked finn, "finn, how'd you get to be so cute?" he answered, "cuzz i comed from you, mommy."

i have a total enchantment with old photographs.

i'm pretty sure that it is divinely inspired enchantment as i've been led through it to connect deeply with our family's ancestry. oh boy, i am a history detective in the making.

so for memorial day we decided to visit the cemetery then have a family-photo scanning party. right up my ally.

here are a few gems i simply had to share...

the one with the arrow is Great Aunt Etta. i still don't really know who that is, but the photograph bewitched me.

this little guy is my dear-ol-dad. awe i think i might have some clues as to where finn got his cuteness.

here's my mom with a bird on her head. love it.

and my grandpa joe. he was an air-force pilot.

grandpa joe again. there was a caption on the back that said "joe and punky." further scrutiny revealed a tiny dog in his hands.

and lastly my darling grandpa joe and his love my grandma idabelle. {we'd been with grandpa to visit her grave earlier in the day.} here they are at their first house. grandpa was a carpenter and built their home. how romantic, eh?

i can barely handle all the romance of it all.
