every few minutes a giant gust of wind swept down the beach, gathering sand and beating against bare skin. i can still hear the echos of evy freaking out.
then there was molly's food aggression. for the first time she became highly territorial about food with the other dogs.
plus the kids were all over the cheetos.
the whole scene reminded me of a kid-friendly version of the hunger games.
i loved being with my brother. our kids started wading too deeply into the water and we both ran out to grab them together. we waded across the river in water up to our middles carrying our critters. i felt happy to have a friend who was wading the same metaphorical water day-to-day in parenthood and other responsibilities. i admire all that he does to keep his family afloat.
matt's mama and sister have been living with us for a month or so and we've been having a lot of fun together. katie is going to have a baby! we are so excited for her. her boyfriend, roy, is a nice man and a good father of six children. we are so glad to have him in the family. life is beautiful when there's love!
after wading in the water i was rather freezing. i decided to hang back in the car with evy while matthew and the rest of our gang played at another beach. when he returned he brought fudge and hot chocolate. he's incredible to me, you know. absolutely the man of my forever. i've been listening to better than love by griffin house today and thanking my lucky stars for our marriage. oh, how i love him.
