family love.
every sunday i teach a group of between five and ten teenagers. we talk about anything from dating standards to educational goals. we encourage each other to serve others and live faithfully. i feel like our class mission could be defined in a single verse of scripture... James 1:27
"Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world."
the standards we strive for as a class, and ultimately as a church, are incredibly straight forward and make me so very happy. i love having the church resources! i love that our family has already made some tough decisions about our life together because we have committed to living standards like the ones found in "for the strength of youth."
last sunday as a class we watched the following video and there was a tangible feeling of optimism and excitement about the joy that comes to families as they strive to live the gospel. we were to the moon at the thought of building happy families!
we want this. and we have it, which is the most amazing part of it all! that these blessings are accessible to all who will strive in love to build positive family traits like faith, forgiveness, work and selflessness, and wholesome recreation.
i know that if we continue in faith as a family to acquire skills like respect, gratitude, and physical and emotional health, we will blessed to continue in this happy, happy path. oh, I love it!
there's nothing so beautiful as family love.
