we can make it.
this is only kindergarten.
whoa.
finn gave us a fright when he walked out of his classroom, out of the school, through the neighborhood and home. all alone. in the middle of the school day.
if i applied to work scooping ice-cream and then found out i was actually hired to be the new CEO of Baskin Robins, it might feel something like this.
being a parent is a big deal.
what would i do without ______________?
1. my husband
2. my faith
3. my Savior
1. without my husband i would sit around regretting all of the things i do wrong. thoughts of inadequacy, failure, remorse and fear would weigh me down. his voice brings me up. his help gives me peace. he tells me i'm not crazy, and i need that.
2. without my faith i would be tossed on waves of fads and fazes. i wouldn't know where to turn for guidance and direction. i'd just flip flop around, parenting in tides. my faith is a steady beat. my faith calms the winds and rains and helps me to accomplish the impossible through tiny footfalls.
3. without my Savior... well, what's the opposite of hope? despair. doubt. discouragement. without Him those things would overtake me. my Savior calls me out of the darkness, beckons to me, leads me on. He reminds me that our children are His, too, and that we are not alone in our hopes for them.
through kindergarten and all the other trials, i know we can make it.
"I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up." (Doc and Cov 84:88)
