great grandpa.

 in august of 2019 we lost great grandpa. despite the intense pain of our loss we experienced many miracles and a peace beyond understanding.

today i am grateful for the last words he said to me. i'm grateful for the love we shared and the constancy of our connection in the last decade of his earthly journey. i miss giving him a hello kiss every sunday visit, but i'm so thankful for every one of those kisses. 

this morning matt caught me watching some of the videos i'd made for grandpa's funeral and this evening he brought home some mudslide ice cream for me. grandpa's favorite.

i miss you, grandpa. that was pretty tricky of you to abandon ship before 2020. i love you and i know we'll meet again.
