stay wild.

in the story of the emperor's new clothes, i love the child-hero.
every child who visits a museum addresses the art in such innocence.
they point out the plain, they blur past the boring, they simply state their assessments.
trailing our young ones through the phoenix museum was among my favorite trip memories.

tamsin even wore gwen in the front-pack so that i could give the bigger babies my focus.

it's not a complete museum trip with kids until ya'll get in trouble at least 3 times.

i was sad the yayoi kusama exhibit was close for walk-through viewing due to covid. walking in would have been magic in a child's eyes.
but children have a way of making their own magic wherever they go, anyway.

their favorite gallery was my favorite gallery.
they took my hand with all enthusiasm and introduced me the tiny models of period rooms.
i wanted to know where they'd all live.

ossi and rowan chose the opulent room below.

liam saw his place in this little library-like game room.
finn, evy and ella each independently identified this english country cottage as their pick

(also, among many memories not photographed, a very grumpy ossi changed his attitude when gracious grandpa offered him ten bucks to push his wheelchair around the museum.)

Grandpa is magic. And you're right, when you say that the kids make their own magic, as well.
