peter pan inspired photo-shoot with sisters.

just for fun.

speaking of "fun." duke is taking me to see them. (insert a dozen exclamation points)

he said, "i can't keep this a secret from you any longer." and then he told me we'd be going.

i asked him how long he'd had the tickets.

he said, "since wednesday."

i reminded him that it was only thursday. and we laughed because he can never zip it for surprises when he knows I'll flip.

i love his face when he sees me so surprised and ecstatic. i can tell that's why he gives up the game.
he simply cannot wait to make me happy.

last night i dreamed that our society was totally whack. i dreamed that a lady at church was setting me up with her son and i just had to go with it because she was my elder. my marriage to duke didn't matter, we just had to give one-another away.

we sat together, me duke and the son (who is not a person i know), and the other man put his arm around me. my heart shattered. the dream went on like that for a while, more moments of agony and death to my soul, until i could take no more.

i yelled, "i do not love your son. i love my [duke]! i will always love [duke] and no one else! i am his! i've given him myself! we have so many plans and they are ours! he must be the one to raise his children, no one else! i love him, i love him!"

my sister spoke up then as a witness, unfolding a notebook scribbled full with occasions of our love expressions.

all the anguish left me then.

i awoke.
and that's when i decided that if something should ever happen to him, i would not remarry.
i could not remarry.

i woke him up to tell him. and i made him promise not to die until we are very old.

he smiled a sleepy smile and said he'd try his best. then he rolled over and went back to sleep.

i must shout the words of my dream with my waking voice.

i love my husband! i will always love him and no one else! i am his! i've given him myself! we have so many plans and they are ours! he must be the one to raise his children, no one else! i love him, i love him!

Did you make your little petal skirt? It's so cute! I'd wear it all the time (and in my head pretend to be Peter Pan...a normal Peter Pan..or so I'll convince myself) anyway! Cute!

thanks ya'll! cambra, once upon a time i fashioned the skirt from a beauty i'd thrifted. i just found a green, pleated, high-waisted skirt and cut the bottom off. it's served me faithfully for 8 or so years now!
